Race World Offshore Announces $100,000 in prize money for Mentor, OH Race

3rd Annual Mentor Offshore Grand Prix July 20th – 22nd

Key West, Fla (May 18, 2018) — Race World Offshore, LLC (RWO) announces an unprecedented prize package for its first race of the season at the 3rd Annual Roar Off The Shore, Mentor Offshore Grand Prix, on July 20th – 22nd.

A total purse of $100,000 dollars is being offered for the 2018 RWO inaugural series event. Each team will walk away with a minimum of $1,000 dollars in prize money, and the top 5 positions in each class will receive substantial checks relative to their podium positions.

“We have been working very hard to bring the sport of offshore powerboat racing to the professional level of other mainstream motorsports.” states Founder and President of RWO, Larry Bleil. “Our mission is to create events that benefit the racers, excite the fans grow the popularity and exposure of the sport. We’re encouraged that our efforts will provide additional incentives for racers to return to Mentor and put on a show that fans will remember. Additionally, we’ll be adding a block party in downtown Willoughby where the teams will display their equipment, sign autographs and interact with the hundreds of fans expected to be in attendance. RWO will also be providing national television coverage of the weekend activities on the CBS Sports Channel.

In addition to the largest prize money package offered in offshore racing in many years, RWO announces the appointment of Dr. Michael Janssen as Medical Director for RWO. Dr. (Doc) Janssen brings many years of competitive racing experience along with an impressive list of credentials as a surgeon and medical practitioner. Dr. Janssen is a board certified surgeon, experienced scuba diver and is a PADI Scuba Dive Instructor.
